Standard Sunroof

A sunroof is not standard on any 4Runner. It is an option but many of them are shipped with them. Look on the added options list on the window sticker and it will list it there. For example, in the NY/NJ region, I would say 99% of the sports have sunroofs. It is very hard to find one without a sunroof.

Like Mark said, it's an option and not standard, I believe they're a $900 option, at least mine was. A lot of them are shipped with sunroofs though, especially Limiteds. It also goes by area, I think the sunroof to non-sunroof models in my area is around 50/50.

We were told by one dealer that you either get a sunroof or the extra row of seats in every sport, no other options. If that is true, I am not sure it should be called an "option".

You cannot get the the 3rd row on sports because of the XReas. Also, MOST sports get the JBL 10 Speaker system which uses the seat belt support in the trunk area.

3rd row and sunroof

On a Limited you can get 3rd row and Xreas, so the two systems can be ordered together. You cannot get a 3rd row with a sunroof because of the headliner clearance for the 3rd row.

In '03, the SE's were equipped standard with a sunroof and Xreas (and some other options). In '04 and currently, the sunroof became optional on the SE, but 99% were still ordered with the sunroof. Toyota figured that if you wanted the Sport Edition it wasn't going to be a grocery getter, so the 3rd row was not offered as an option. They figured it you wanted the 3rd row and Xreas, you would order the limited.

From my experience, it depends on what part of the country you are in (or in Canada), because the options vary greatly. In the Southeast, you can order an SE with Leather interior - which is not available anywhere else in the country.

I don't know how it is where you live, but I couldn't get a sport with the JBL 10 speaker radio. I would say that very few sports come with the upgraded stereo. I know I couldn't find one Sport in NY or NJ with a JBL radio. I think all of the Limited's are shipped with the JBL 10 speaker system.

On my 2003 Sport, I have the sunroof listed as an option. The XREAS is a standard feature on the sport, when it is an option on the Limited. I don't think any options are "standard" on the sport. Even if the vehicle is shipped with these options, you are still paying for them full price. The way the 4Runner's are configured vary greatly in different regions.
