Starter?

Searched and found a lot of posts about replacing the solenoid contacts on the 3rd gen but now sure if the 4th gen starter is in the same spot and cant find anything on 4th gen starters.

Basically when I turn the key it just clicks once and nothing else. Try to jump and same thing happens. Checked the horn and lights and thy work just fine so I'm incline to say that the battery is ok. Just had the alternator replaced a few months ago, so....must be the starter. Looking for an inexpensive fix like in the 3gen forums.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Have the battery tested properly first, Autozone, or any parts store worth a damn should have a battery tester that can check it.

I can't tell for sure, but based on your User Avatar it looks like you have a V8 4Runner. On the 2UZ-FE motors the starter is located in the engine valley under the intake plenum. I would make sure you've ruled out the battery and any possible aftermarket items installed (such as dealer/port installed alarm/security) before doing the fun job of trying to remove the starter (it's even more annoying on VVTi 2UZ-FEs like the one pictured in your avatar because the air pump switching valves are over the starter.)
