I've been getting the click and having to turn the key twice at times, (three this morning) and am now toying with the idea of the replacing the contacts as some have suggested.

Did the contact repair pay off as a long term option for those of you that have done this? Or would it be recommended to replace the starter in general? I’m in a 2000 SR5 with 95K miles

Can I purchase these online rather than finding a dealer? Found quite a few sites but not sure which kit I’d need.

I'd spend the money on a reman starter, its time comsuming but not all that bad to change. If you change the contacts the rest of the starter is still tired and worn out.

I disagree. Nippon-Denso starters are pretty tough, except for the contacts (good for only 10 years 150K, it seems). Good chance the starter itself will outlive the car. I'd spend my PM $$ elsewhere.

^^ This. I alos say don't waste your money on replacing stuff that is still good, contacts are only $20.
