Starting issues

My dad's buddy bought a 99 2wd with the TRD blower not long ago, and now when he goes to start it he gets nothing but the typical click click click not wanting to turn over. Replaced the battery and it's no better. Where does he look now? I told him to check voltage to starter solenoid and check to see if the relay is bad, or it could just be a bad starter, anything else we can do to diagnose this?

Search for the "starter contacts" thread to rebuild it or just get a new one. have fun, this is one of the worst starters to replace. Not impossible, just not fun.

Supposedly easier on a 2wd, never done it. I didn't think it was all that bad on my 4x4 manual. Took some awkward body positions and a universal joint for the socket but nothing crazy.

Must be worse for the 4x4 autos.
