Starting problems when hot?

Hello guys, i have a 2000 toyota 4-runner v6 3.4L And this problem ive been have only happends when the truck and been turned off and let sit for about 10-15 mins. It will start right back up just fine. First let me say i had checked for hidden CEL or any that may have been saved. theres none. Next the problem, what it will do it i try to start it and it will idle really low and jumps around and then dies, sometimes just starts and dies, what i need to do is start it and give it gas fast and then it will usaly work sometimes i need to drive it for a sec and it will idle perfect and never show signs of anything bad. Thanks for any help im thinking maybe fuel problem air problems never seem to be there.

Try cleaning the throttle body, IAC and MAF. It's free and might just take care of the problem.

i guess ill need to pick up a book on this so i can find it all i havnt done much work on these trucks. Its my moms i just love to work on cars/truck. i kinda thought maybe the coolant temperature sensor? IAC Idle air contorl? thats the one im confused on =) whats something good to clean the MAF with just a air compressor? and TB with like carb cleaner im guesssin...

alright i looked up IAC woot go me i was right. where might this be located?

Possible, but not the most likely. You can test the sensor first (or have it tested). It's easy/cheap to replace also.

IAC Idle air contorl? thats the one im confused on =)

whats something good to clean the MAF with just a air compressor?

MAF cleaner or CRC electronic cleaner. Spray and let dry, don't touch the little wires.

Hmm well i took it all apart cleaned it all. then let it sit for 15ish mins and started it and it was stumbing again. almost sounded like it wanted to die but it didnt. I cleaned air filter, took off tb and cleaned it, cleaned IAC, cleaned MAF. any hopefully cheap ideas?

Pull the the negative cable off your battery for 45 minutes. This will reset the ECU and then when you put the cable back on and start it, it will re-learn the new idle which takes up to an hour or so. This is pretty common. Did you use a little RTV silicone to seal the IAC back up to the TB? Too much RTV can goop and cause the IAC valve to stick also.

Same Problem...

This problem screwed with me for over a year ..exact same thing however it was with my Celica...I finally figure it out when i built my engine..
The injectors!
They were not sealing against the head so I was running lean..It would vapor lock and die but first idle low and stumble.
Fix:New Injectors
Have not had the problem since..I had tried everything that was mentioned above and it all failed..this worked for me!
When I started checking I first went thought all that was said above plus checking for vacuum leaks and no bends in the fuel line.
I took my injectors out and one of the O rings was not there so make sure they all are there..This is what was causing it to not seal!!
