starting problems

I just bought a nice 2000 T4R limited, just like I always wanted. However, when it has been sitting for a few days and I attempt to start it, it won't crank, litterally at all until sometimes the fourth try. Sometimes it will partialy crank and give up. By the third or fourth try it cranks just fine. The dash lights up brightly and there is plenty of apparent battery power. When warm, or only having been used recently, it starts immediately as it should. Runs perfectly other wise. I am thinking the starter contacts? Any wisdom here? Thank you.

Start with the east stuff first...check the battery terminals by cleaning them and reattaching them. Use water and baking soda to clean and then use vaseline to coat the terminals.:banana:

Good advice, Coke-a-cola works well for cleaning terminals as well.

OP: you more than likely need new starter contacts, I think they're about $40 at the dealer and only take about 2 hours to swap out. If you do a search on starter contacts you should be able to find a write up on how to do it.
