startup idle issues

so normally the truck would idle high then go down which to my understanding was normal... well the past few days I will start it and it will die unless i give it gas or put it in gear then it idles fine. any input would be great.

well there could be a few problems, vacume leak.... plugs...maybe fuel...


i would basicly full a maitnence on it, let me think about it

thanks where is it located and is it an expensive part?

Its attached to the underside of the throttle body. I think they are over $200 from the dealer. I have a used one I was gonna sell for $35 plus shipping. It fits the 3.4 motors

does the TB need to come off in order to get to it?

yes it does. If you remove the idle valve, you should replace its gasket as well

hey toyotech.. so yesterday I took of the TB and cleaned the AICV I sprayed it with carb cleaner in the two hoses and also through the TB where the hole is... This was def the problem as it doesnt do it anymore... If the one you have is indeed good, I think I want to get it from you just incase it does this again... thanks a ton
