Steam from engine bay after driving in the rain?

Hey peeps,

After driving in the rain for about 15 minutes and parking I saw steam coming out of my engine bay/through the spaces in the fenders. I recently adjusted the rubber stops on the front of the engine bay that hold the hood up.

Are there any seals or weather stripping I should be looking for?

Is this normal? Possibly water on the exhaust? I just need to know haha.

Edit: This did not happen last time there was rain.

you should check all the hoses from your radiator to be honest... large amounts of steam is not normal

I’ll check the hoses.

It’s not a massive amount of steam. Very faint but noticeable of staring at it long enough. I must be over reacting.

Well water does have to evaporate sooner or later. I think it like the 'perfect' situation when the roads are very warm, it rains but not much, just enough to have all the rain on the road steam up before our eyes, could be similar just under your hood, too much rain won't happen, but just a bit and perhaps so.

So yeah I'd just keep an eye on any steam under the hood when there Isn't any rain! :cowboy:

The engine just nearly overheated. When looking at the top of the valve cover there is moisture. Sweet smell so it must be coolant.

I’m going to check all my hoses and see what is leaking.

Throttle body hose was shot and leaking. Replaced. No more steam.
