Steaming in the overflow tank but temperature is good

I have a 95 4runner and I just replaced the head gasket. The job went well, the oil pressure is good, and it seems to run well but when I drive it for longer then 10 minutes steam starts coming out of the overfill tank but the temperature is fine. There is no oil in the water nor water in the oit. I have even driven it a full day and the temperature stayed below the half way mark the whole day, but whenever I stopped there was steam coming out of the overfill tank tube. I replaced the thermostat and watched the water level at idol and have seen the thermostat gulp down the water when it opens.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be happening? or what has gone bad?

Try a new rad cap first.

Thank you for the suggestion. I should have mentioned before that I already tried a new radiator cap as well.

Would a faulty water pump or heater core cause this problem?

Also, I changed the timing belt when I did the head gasket. I put it all back without trying to to mess with the timing, but I may have. If the timing were a little off, would that cause this problem?
