Steering Help - reviving a 92 4runner SR5 4x4

I am currently in the process of "reviving" a 1992 4runner SR5 V6. This is my future father-in-laws vehicle (1 owner) and I decided to get it back on the road for him. It has 175K miels and needed alot of body work (rockers, quarts, tailgate) which I have done and its getting ready to be painted. After its painted though... there are a few issues I'd like to address before I return the vehicle to him.

My main concern is with a steering issue:
The steering wheel turns about a 1/4-1/2 turn MORE to the right than it does to the left. (sucks when trying to park the car)
Now... I know the vehicle has been wrecked in the past and some steering parts may have been replaced. I asked him about it and he said that "the steering stops are set this way".

So... my question to you is.... Are there "steering stops" on the steering linkage or steering box of a 4runner??"

On my fiance's Xterra they are located on the lower control arms, but I didnt not see them there on the 4runner.

OR ... did someone install the steering linkage wrong?? (with the steering box NOT at center??)

My other issue is with the Rear ABS. The warning light is iilluminated on the dash and from a quick search on this forum I figured it to be the ABS controller. I was wondering if it is possible to bypass the ABS unit and run new brake lines to the rear (needs new lines anywayz). Also... is it possible to remove the rear brake leveling unit?? (It too needs lines replaced on it and the fittings refuse to be removed from the unit)

All help is greatly appreciated.

After a few hours of searching the net...
I think I have found the answer's to BOTH my questions.

The LSPV (load sensing proportioning valve) can be removed from the Toyota brake system. I will simply need to eliminate the return line and purchase an adjusting proportioning valve (wilwood or SSBC for $40) to install in the rear brake system somewhere. Also will need to plug the spot where the return line went to the T-block in the pass. side fender well.

As for the steering stops.... i also found that I will need to grease them well to prevent noise when turning sharply.

Oh yeah, after the stock plastic caps fall off the steering stops they will make noise, greasing them IS the answer.

Well... I looked today... and the bumpstops are not even close to touching when the wheel is turn completely to the left. Someone must have put the pitman arm on in the wrong position. I can turn the wheel about 2 full turns to the right... where as I can only get 1 1/4 turns to the left.

Seems like it will be an easy fix... set the wheels straight... remove pitman arm ... turn steering wheel back 1/2 turn and re-install pitman arm in correct location.

Also... I installed some new brake lines to bypass the L and T fittings in the passenger side front fender well. I have a much MUCH better brake pedal now. Probably better than it has ever been. I didnt have a Adjustable Proportioning Valve at this time.. but I am going to install one before the vehicle is put back on the road. You can definitely tell the rear brakes want to grab as much as the fronts do.... which would not be good in the rain/snow.

Hi Im instreted to do the same thing whit the brakes but maybe a valve to controls the brakes or electric valve on and off this would be very good
