Steering Wheel Emblem and Interior Handles

I have searched like crazy, and asked in some of my other threads, but have not gotten an answer. Is there a way to remove the emblem on the steering wheel? I tried heating it and prying a little, but it wasn't budging, so it seems there is more than just double stick tape.

Also, has anyone done anything with the chrome door handles on the interior? Thinking about blasting those with plasti dip too. Thoughts?

I have not done anything with the steering wheel. I would advise against using dinoc on compound curves. The stuff is great to work with, but I ended up removing a lot of the dinoc from the interior.

In regards to the interior door handles, I would invest in hydrodipping anything you want done. This will cost more up front but will look and last a lot longer than plastidip or dinoc.

Ok. Sounds like if I don't really want to create further issues, I should just leave it be. Never heard of hydrodipping. Will have to check that out. But I'm assuming that means I need to remove the handles. I guess a little bit of chrome on the inside won't kill me. Or maybe it will.

Interior door handles, lol. It's cool, try again, I hear third time's the charm.
[MENTION=106181]SoCal4Run[/MENTION] perhaps you can try swapping out to 10'-13' interior handles? I have a 12' TE, and I swear they are just black plastic, not chrome (not 100% positive because I don't pay attention to them even though I pull on them every day, lol).

Thanks. I know it's a silly thing, but I swear I'm just allergic to chrome.
 
The steering wheel emblem has stems on the back of emblem that goes through holes in the cover and then Toyota melts the stems over the holes so it stays secure. In other words you basically have to break the plastic stems to get it off. Good luck.

P.S.: if you do still pry it off double sided tape/super glue won't work holding it back on. You're going have to remove the air bag and glue over the holes so it stays on again. Don't ask how I know. LOL

Carefully grind down the melted stem part 90% of the way with a Dremel and pry the "T" emblem off.

When you put it back into place use a hot soldering iron to melt the tabs again. Works every time.

PS- I would trade my black interior door handles for the chrome ones if anyone is listening... :)

Yes sir but either way you have to remove airbag to get to it. LOL
