Steering wheel pulls when accelerating

05 V8 sport, mods in signature.

Don't know if I am just noticing this or if its been there all along, but when I accelerate in even a mildly aggressive manner I notice that my steering wheel turns clockwise and I have to fight it to stay straight. Its nothing too aggressive, but noticeable.

The car drives straight, tires wear evenly, so not sure what it could be.

Where should I start?

Sounds like torque steer. Mine does the same thing post lift.

It's a common issue with high torque engines in FWD or AWD vehicles. The Audi Quattro was known for torque steer. I've read various unsatisfactory (to me) explanations for what's going on, and still don't really understand it, but it's real. I don't notice it too much on my 4runner, but my wife's Juke will just about launch off the side of the on-ramp if you put it in FWD only and really mash it entering a freeway. It's more civilized in AWD mode.

I haven't been driving the 4 runner daily for the last year, so compared to my other vehicle it was noticeable. As I mentioned it runs great, drives great, that was just something I noticed.

I have the same truck, and I feel the torque steer under acceleration too...just the way it is.

The heavier tires really brought the torque steer to my attention. I for sure get some steering wheel feedback when I'm street racing light to light. Normal for the awd's.

edit: Thinking further on this topic, when the front end gets de-weighted under hard acceleration and a tire starts to spin it also may engage a traction nanny and cause the pull. I noticed with all my traction aids turned off today to play in the snow that it accelerated hard with much less random pulling.
