I haven't noticed it as bad on my '05, but it does still exist. The new 4Runners are just VERY sensitive it seems and if they are just slightly off balance you will know it.

I'm wondering why Toyota would put so much great enginering into our 4th Gen's and screw it up with piece of crap Dunlop tires? It really doesn't make a lot of sense. We're not exactly talking a cheap truck here...... so what's a few bucks for great tires?
I was extremely disapointed when I saw the Dunlops on my 05! I even tried to get the dealer to swap them off, but they wouldn't budge as I had a rock bottom deal with them. It's just a shame that a great SUV has to arrive with such lousy tires..... I will also be glad to get rid of them as soon as practical.
Spider5 said:I don't think alignment will solve the problem, it is more of a wheel balance problem. It is interesting however that the bridgestones installed has the same issue. Must be something more to it then just tires, brake routers maybe. With the larger routers on the SE could this be a possibility.
Pitbull said:I saw this problem coming when I did the research before buying my 4runner. I made it a part of my deal that they take the Michelin Cross Terrains off another 4runner and put them on my SE. Dealer did not care at all, just did the switch. I waited till we had worked out all of the numbers and then said OK you have a deal if you switch the tires. What does the dealer care? The Sales manager said it would be easier to sell the SR5 that they took the Michelins off of with the raised white letter tires that came off my SE. He said most people don't have a clue about the quality of tires only want the bling![]()
