steering wheel

who makes a steering wheel for a 93 4runner. Something in 14 inch size and a little bigger around then stock. I have a hard time getting in and out as my legs get locked under the wheel.

I'm watching this thread, but my gut tells me no one. I've seen a few guys install a Grant or other aftermarket one-size-fits-all-with-an-adapter wheels.
I actually, for better or worse, worry about losing my cruise control. I've played with a few thoughts of hardwiring it to some switches on the dash or something.

Not sure on who makes a different wheel without losing cruise (if equipped) grant or some of the other wheel companies im sure make one that can bolt in. However an idea if you have cruise and are handy you could probably cut the factory stitching and pull the cover off then reshape the bottom of the wheel for clearance and then have it recovered. May look a little tunerish if the bottom is flat but it would gain your clearance, retain your cruise and be cheap and easy enough to do. Just an idea

That is something to think about, I have seen wheels cut off at the top, but never thought about cutting the bottom. I wonder how that would affect driving off road.

Not sure. Even if you only shortened it by an inch or so it would gain you a lot of felt space. May also be able to trim the arms that mount to the wheel ring a tad and have someone fab you a whole new ring that is slightly smaller. I feel something in this shape would be easy to drive still and provide ample room

I like that, my cruse isn't working so I don't worry about loosing it. Like hangininutah said, maybe it could be moved to the dash or console.

Just went on the sparco site, they have a wheel that is flat on top and bottom with thumb horn buttons, wonder if they could be converted to cruse control.

I’m sure anything is possible but I’m no wiring guy. Usually outsource for that or plan on it taking way longer then it needs to

The wheel is a little spendy just to buy one to take apart. Still I like the idea.:der:

Yeah usually anything with the name sparco on it is overpriced but I’m sure you could modify your stock wheel to that shape with just a little cutting and welding and I can’t imagine it would cost much to have it recovered. Or I’m sure grant or another cheaper company makes a similar wheel

The cruise control buttons are really simple--I've taken apart my steering wheel to replace them. Just two pole buttons. I can ship you my old button pair if you want me to, but its literally just two wires from each button. Short to 'push' button if you will.
