looking for a passenger side step (to attach to a running board) for my
wife. She is having trouble getting in the vehicle. Anyone have any knowledge
of such a step?

We're getting on in years and she is older than me so i'm looking for some
kind of help for her. I'm not giving up my 2014 4-runner!

thanks in advance,

savagcl

AMP research makes a running board that folds up under the rocker panel when the door is closed and folds down when the door is open. Kinda pricey ($1200 for a set and then have to pay someone to put them on). My father in law is a parapelegic and needs a running board that sits lower than most fixed running boards. Medicare reimbursed him for the cost of the parts and labor. Something to look into.

OffRoadGuy,

Thanks for the info/pics.
Looks like just what we need.
Guess I'll have to rob the piggy bank again.

Glad I ask, looks like some others have an interest also.

Thanks again,
savagcl

From the ruler you showed, that looks like 400 bucks per inch. Pretty steep.

Will have to think on it for a while (meaning my mate (wife) will really pitch a
fuss!

You might have better luck posting this in the 5th Gen forum. If you want it moved, the 5th Gen mod would do it. PM 1engineer

Which step is difficult for her - from the ground to the RB, or from the RB into the truck?

In either case, maybe you could have a fab shop modify the mounting points of the RB to the truck.

She has trouble getting from the ground to the RB (and from the RB to ground.

Once on the RB she is OK.

thanks,
