Successful Frame Repairs/Regrets?

I have the ol crusty control arm mounts on my rear axle and am at that point deciding whether to sell or fix. I don't think this is an uncommon issue for trucks in the NE so I'm wondering who's had theirs fixed and if so, did it pop again or is it rock solid?

We're about to buy a new (used) car as my wife's car is also on the older side, so I'm in no rush to decide. The truck runs great and above the frame it looks fantastic which is making me hesitate in selling. Anyhow, I'm going to ask around as to who can fab and weld the two brackets and of course, see how much. If anyone's gotten this done before, cost would be appreciated. Also, if anyone has a recommended shop, please DM me (CT).

You're 4th gen I assume?

If you plan to keep it for the long haul, a frame swap might be an option for you.

Otherwise, protection is key. If you have a good repair job done + protect the frame inside and out, it will last a long time. If it's not done well or not protected, it will just happen again further down.

Theres a company called auto rust dot com that makes weld-on kits for each section of many Toyota frames. They also do the work if you drive to them in RI. That would be a good option for you as well!

Retro Bowl​

Has anyone here used the Auto Rust weld-on kits that whyzee125 mentioned? Curious how they hold up after a couple winters

How it holds up will have significantly more to do with the installation than with the part. If you try shopping around for the cheapest welder you'll get cheap welds.
