Stereo installation. Use existing amp?

Are there any wiring diagrams that show how to wire an aftermarket head to the existing factory amp? Is there any reason not to do this if the head has preamp outs? Or does the head high power out put out as much as the factory amp?

I have a 2002 sport edition 4runner.

Makes no sense to use factory amp, take it out. The weight savings alone is worth 15-20 hp.

The factory amp is only there because the factory deck doesn't have an interal amp for all 4 speakers, consider the factory deck/amp to be one unit attached with a wiring harness, and either leave it all in, or take it all out.

Agree with the others. It's pointless unless you have the factory deck in there. Otherwise yank it out.
