Stereo

I've had a 2004 4Runner, but ended up trading it for a truck. Now I'm back in a 2008 4Runner.

Previous owners had a GPS (TomTom) installed in the stereo. I'll attach a picture.
I think the auxiliary converter in the console is unable to be used with this current stereo.

That's a problem. I need music.

So, what kind of stereo's would you suggest?

Thanks for the help!

That unit is a factory installed one for the Urban Edition 4th gen 4Runners, FYI.

Not sure if your truck is an Urban Edition or if the previous owner installed it.

Thanks. It is an Urban Edition...I think I definitely want to change it out. Do you know if the aux will work with that for the meantime?

Just an FYI, the TomTom units have a different wiring harness, so to upgrade the stereo you're going to have to cut and splice wires, from what I have read no one make a adapter wiring harness for the TomTom version as they have for other 4th gen T4R stereos.

Auseeker is correct. I replaced mine about a month ago and am still trying to figure out the wiring for the auto-dimming feature. If you purchase a stereo make sure you get it from Crutchfield because they have been a huge help with getting this thing wired correctly.

I am having the same issue with the AUX. I stopped for lunch while on a road trip, went back to start my car. For some reason the radio resets itself and now no AUX. Also the beep came back on. (you know that one that beeps at the same volume every time you turn the radio down).

So point is the AUX was working fine now all the sudden not. I can't find anywhere how to reset this radio. Does anyone know how to reset this damn thing. (also it is a crap radio; I've been waiting to long to replace)
