Sticking Key help

96 toyo 4 runner the ignition key wont always go to lock so that the key can be taken out. have already changed the silonoid on the shifter and actu. on brake. still sticking and wont come out any help would be apprec.

have u changed the actual ignition cyliner? maybe a worn key?

Yes have i have changed the key and tumbler Cyl. with a new one from toyota and not a aftermarket one . Seems all the problems are leading to inside the steering Lock on the column.

Seems like when the key finnaly pulls out, the lock mech. clicks really loud as if some thing was binding it up . Ill know more monday when i tear the column down. Its the only thing left that would hamper the key extraction.

try some graphite lock lube. it will dry out but leave graphite on the tumbler bits and help them work better. just make sure you wipe your key off for about a week after use
