Sticky throttle, what should I do?

So my throttle doesn't return quite all the way when I let off the gas. I have the right return spring and have also just replaced the entire throttle body. I am wondering if there is a way to lubricate the throttle in any way or if anyone knows of another technique? The throttle returns it just stops coming back about 1-2mm from where it shout so it causes an unusually high idle. Really pissed at my mechanic for not figuring this out himself

I ordered a new cable but it really seems sticky in the throttle itself.

I'd say sticky. I can go in and make it return with my hand or use a heavier return spring but I'd rather not have to do that.

Definitely not the throttle stop

my '87 had the same issue. didn't always hang, but it would on occasion, resulting in high idle.

i added a stiffer spring. not replaced, added. so, there is now an extra spring to pull the throttle back to the stop once the pedal is released. it has been installed since late winter, and seems to have solved the intermittent high idle.

Springs wear out over time, it could just be weak.

Throttle cable too tight? When I adjusted mine I accidentally made it too tight so it wouldn't close all the way. If not I say the spring is worn out.

Yeah I will probably go with the additional spring option. I had a heavier spring on there before my mechanic "fixed" the truck 3 days ago. I was trying to not have to go that route and have the truck fixed the right way. Looks like I wasted $300 bucks on having him replace the throttle body. I won't be going back to this mechanic. It's about the 5th Time I've come in for the same issue and he gives the truck back to me saying that it is fixed and then the next day the issue starts happenening again. It makes me worried because this is the same guy that rebuilt my entire engine. Thanks everyone for their ideas on this one. If anyone knows how I could clean or lube the throttle the right way please let me know!

The right way is to send it in to Maxpower for a rebuild. And if he accidentally ports it 4mm larger in the process, well golly, won't that suck?

just shimm it from the back ,mine doing it too.thin washer on it ,after you pull off spring,throttle cable.i gotta do mine
