Stikky's T4R Build

I believe that guy doesn't know what he is talking about. The SR5 doesn't come with any sort of "special" suspension, just your basic shocks and coil springs setup. You can throw any sort of leveling/lift kit on your rig without issue. The only thing that can go wrong is an incompetent tech breaking one of your ABS sensors while doing the installation. That will for sure light up your dash like a Christmas tree. I'd avoid 4 Wheel Parts for sure.

This was my initial thought, Good to know.. So far this forum has provided me way more useful information that 4 Wheel Parts, i'll be going elsewhere to get suspension work done--and quotes. Thanks man, really appreciate the guidance.

4Runner Bottle Opener Keychain

So, I randomly came by a post on a 4Runner Bottle Opener Keychain.. I think it was on MTN4RNR's build thread.. decided to pull the trigger myself.

Was a little unsure because i've never shopped at YodaTeq. Either way, I pulled the trigger. After ordering I got a tracking number with in 20 minutes.. Ordered it yesterday, and I got it in the mail today. Excellent response times, excellent packaging, and to top it off, it's a very high quality and nicely made bottle open.

I highly recommend checking these guys out, and getting yourself an opener. I'm not affiliated or getting anything out of this... I just highly appreciate small businesses taking the time to put out quality and top notch product, and then on top of it putting a hand written note with a sticker inside of the package. I mean, it was only $20 bucks? I will probably be ordering another for my 3rd gen 4Runner.

Here is the link to the keychain I bought.

Looking good! I did some plasti dip and ended up pulling off my TRD OR badges. I could not get it out between the little cracks. Maybe not enough coats? I like the pro wheels also and the center console organization is a must.

I like that, and I saw a Jeep one too. Guess I'll be ordering two of them.

Potentially, you really have the badges time in-between layers to full dry, and then I put about 9-10 layers... but i ended up taking all the badges off anyways. lol.. however the toyota emblems on from the front and back are still plasti dipped. happy with it.

Awesome! I'm always quick to point out small business with quality product & service. I would rather pay a premium price to them, then to feed giant franchises. I will be ordering the 'Toyota' opener today.

Some Jazz

So, i've added a few more smiles per hour to the runner today.

- Added the black ICON Shift knob. This one. (No I didn't pay real money for this).
- Added A Custom Startup & Shutdown Screen
- Purchased A Flash Drive that will stay in the Runner for Music & Audio Books while I don't have service, purchased this one.

Here is the custom startup image I made, it displays on the navigation when the car turns on... if you're really interested i'll take photos of it if you ask.. lol.

To do this yourself:
1. Get an empty flash drive & format it to FAT32. (standard for windows, I think) (Here is the Flash Drive Im using]
2. Create Folder name exactly 'StartupImage' and another named 'DisplayOffImage'.
3. Upload a 900x480 image into the folder in a JPG or JPEG file format, no larger than 5MB.
4. Plug it into USB port on 4Runner
5. Navigate to Settings > General > Update Custom Startup Screen > Transfer
6. Whallaaaaaah

** If you're wondering, the proper resolution for the screen is 900x480.

The truck is now lifted by ICON, will have more photos and information on it later.

Icon Stage 2 Billet 3" Lift

The time has come, here are some photos of the ICON Suspension that I recently had installed... ICON installed them for me. Followed up with an Alignment.

Link to Suspension: Here

Front: 3"
Rear: 1.5"

Thoughts: The suspension, in my opinion rides better than factory. The 4Runner comes initially with a bit of a 'mushy' ride... With this ICON lift, it's stiff, smooth and very responsive. I'm very happy with the look, super clean.

Only gripe I have with this, is the most caster I am able to get out of it is 2, when the factory recommends 4. Not a big deal, just a a tiny bit of change in the steering wheel.

Lower Control Arm Skid Plates

While at ICON, they installed Lower Control Arm Skid Plates.

Here is a link to them: here

They look rather clean, and the logos are very prominent.

cool.

Windshield Shade & Thule Roof Top Storage

Windshield-Visor-Thule-Backpack.jpg

Added a Windshield Shade a few months ago, and I was a little hesitant to spend the cash on this.. however when I got it and started using it, i'm glad I did. It fits on the windshield with out having to put down the visors, covers the entire window. easily folds. this is the one I got: here

I got the Thule Motion XL Roof Top Cargo, matches the paint perfect. It is actually a lot larger than It looks. Putting 2 Inflatable Paddle Boards and 2 Snowboards inside along with smaller luggage to save room inside. Ive had it for a few days, and I can tell that over time this thing will end up with paint swirls.. will most likely wrap it later on in its life. Here is where I bought it.

Running Boards

After throwing the Thule Cargo Box up top, wasn't happy with constantly opening the door and stepping inside to reach up top. Went on to Facebook Market Place and found running boards from a 2016 Trail, got a set for $160.
