stock cd player problems

i have an 03 sport 4wd and it has the jbl system in it. the stock cd player says there is a cd in slot 2... it has said that since i got it, about a week. and it will not eject and i also can not load a disc in the other spots. is it jammed or am i just doing something wrong? i am new to the site but i have searched a good bit and haven[t got an answer. hope you guys can help

Does the display read “ERR3″?

It's for LX470 but I guess it used the same cd changer as 4runners and ERR3 disk jamming is a common problem for older LX470s.

That said, you might still have to replace the headunit based on the information on that page.

yikes! i have installed a lot of aftermarket cd players but that looks like a lot of work to maybe get it working. might just take it out and go with a cd/dvd combo and see how i like it. i enjoy the access to controls on the steering wheel which is why i hate to change it out.

ok, thanks for all the help. do you know where i could find those adapters for the steering controls. i know they have so many different conections with the cd players when you get them i wouldnt know what to look for.

very helpful link. that piece is like 69 bucks and they have several different links for after market stuff. i guess i will end up going that route and change the whole stock cd player to a cd/dvd screen kinda deal!
