This will not fit a 3rd Gen 4runner. it has a bigger face than 7x4 inches (double din).

Interesting. The previous owner gave it to me when I bought the truck. A Pioneer Avic F700bt headset was in the dash at that point. He handed this H/U to me as well, said it was the original hardware. It may not fit well then, I never tried fitting it to the dash.

Thx for pointing that out nissanh. Looks like this H/U was stock in RAV4s and Celicas in 2003. Until I try installation in my own dash, fitment is questionable for 3rd gen 4runner.

It will fit into the internal mounts but you'll have trouble getting the front dash parts in place.

I have Subaru 6 CD indash player in my Toyota. Both Toyota and Subaru stereo's are made by Panasonic and have the same mounting system, same size all around and same number of wires at the back (but in different locations).
