Thanks for that formula however it is not really necessary for what I am trying to do here.

I am simply trying to see if there is any correlation between the trim/year/door code and what is actually in the vehicle. I guess people could use this formula to determine what is in their vehicle however, without doing a precise measurement on the tires ( one companys 33" tire may only be 32.5 while another's is 33.5") this could cause the numbers to be incorrect. Also, they would need a more precise way of monitoring mph as the cluster is not 100% accurate.

Actually, I use a tire calculator that Discount Tire has on their website and it works quite well. It gives me a tire diameter that I can use. I also have taken a stop watch (at times) and timed out my speeds from mile post to mile post on the highways to see if there is a discrepancy in my odometer and speedometer readings. It is not that hard to get real close to the gear numbers. There are also derivatives of the calculation that will give you MPH, RPMs and trans output shaft data. I was just asking to see if anyone knew the trans output ratio, so that I don't have to do all of the number crunching to get what I want. GM overdrive trannys have a .70 OD function, but I am not sure about the Toyota world.

So If I read all of this right, my sticker shows the following

225/75/15 tires
A03A rear end code
A340F tranny

My guess would be that this should mean that under this truck is an automatic transmission, with a 4.10 gear set. Would that be what the sticker is showing?

Does anyone have a code cypher for what number is supposed to mean what?

yes your assumption is correct that based on the sticker, you have an auto with 4.10 gears. now go verify it and post back with the rest of the info on your truck so i can ad you to my list. lol

Did you do a spin test or just look on your door jam?

Once again, does anyone know what the auto tranny output ratio is with the OD? This would assist in the calculations of the rear end for verification.

Verification to some could be looking at a sticker. You apparently are more thorough. I didn't know that 4.56 came in manual trans rigs. I thought it was only 4cyl autos.
