Stock Head Unit Wiring - Stereo Amp question

Hi all,

Need some help. Amp is not turning on.

I bought an external amp that comes with an internal DSP. It basically taps into speaker out terminals of the Stock unit (non JBL). It comes with a harness (and a reverse harness) that connects to the back of the Stock Unit's 10 pin and 6 pin connectors. The process to install is as follows:

Mount the amp under the passenger seat and secure the group and feed a power cable from the batter. Two cable sets (Hardness and a Reverse Harness each with 6 pin and 10 pin connectors) then go from the AMP to the back of the Stock Head Unit. One Harness connects to the back of the Head Unit's 6 pin and the 10 pin connector. The Reverse Hardness connects to the original factory cables (6 pin and 10 pin). In theory this is simple. Connections are simple.

The hard unit is getting power and turns on fine. No sound comes out. I believe that the AMP is not getting a remote trigger signal. I am attaching a set of pictures to who all the wires.

Can anyone tell me what cables I need to use from the original factory 10 pin connector to send the trigger signal to the External AMP? I believe that the Blue/White cable that goes from the reverse Harness to the AMP carries the trigger signal but I am not 100% sure. I also believe that the thin Grey cable from the stock 10 pin carries the ignition turn on signal to the head unit.

I have some (hopefully) useful data that you can use to get it up and running, but my approach is a bit different. First, I'll post a speaker wiring diagram link for you to refer to: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/2200323-post35.html





Perhaps to save you time, here are the front speaker wire designations:

RF(NEG) BLUE (or PINK), RF(POS) Lt Green (or Vio), LF(NEG) PINK, LF(POS) Lt GREEN,!

As far as turing on the amp, I just ran a 16ga wire from the front 'Center Console cigarette lighter (Power Point Socket) down to the amp; which starts the amp, but has the 'Fail-safe' feature of NEVER allowing the amp to accidentally stay on when the vehicle is turned off!

The LT Green wire (at the socket) is POS and the White wire w/BLK Stripe is NEG! I'll leave you with a few Audio system install threads that may be helpful just in case you decide to use this method to get it done!

the second to the last photo in your post are your front speaker wires; YEL, PINK, BLUE, and GREEN

UPDATE:

in the first picture, the 10 pin connector on the right, using a single solid thin copper cable from CAT6A, I 'jumped' the red cable into the blue/white cable that is directly under the red cable... and whole.... the amp power on and the sound comes out.... this was using the 2013 Limited non-JBL NAV Head unit in my 2011 Trail.

If I use the stock 2011 Trail head unit in the same setup then I do not need to jump the red cable into the blue/white cable to trigger the Amp power on. this means that the 2011 Trail head unit sends the remote turn on single for the external amp,,, where as the 2013 Limited non-JBL NAV Head unit with LCD screen does not send the same remote turn on signal.
