I pulled the trigger on the Yokahama Geolandar A/T G015's. My dealership was offering a 'buy 3 and get one for $1' offer - calling around a number of places they had the best price by far overall.

I am happy with how they look on the 4R, they seem a bit quieter than the Destination A/T's previously. The ride also seems to be smoother and less abusive over my normal daily drive bumps. I am not sure if that has to do with extra tread being new or just a different tire structure.

For now I am happy - have to see how they perform this winter and over the long term with wear.

The interesting this with these tire is that my speedo is accurate again!!! It was off by 2-3 mph around 70 - it is dead on now (using GPS/Phone/Etc). The OEM tires were accurate, the Destination AT's made it off - now back on track with these.

I hate tire shopping because of analysis paralysis and honestly i've seen many variability within each tire itself depending on batch etc.

I was torn between the Geolanders and the Hankooks earlier in the year. I couldn't find much on the Geolanders since they were newer and even less so put on 4runners specifically so I went Hankook ATM RF10 because discount tire blew them out relatively cheap and they are OEM tires on some vehicles I believe. I don't rock crawl or anything so they've been working out decent. No snow yet. I didn't like the look much but it's grown on me over time.

Be sure to post updates. The Geolanders are interesting in theory at least.

I have Yokohama Geolanders GO15 LT (on my 3ed gen). I'd buy them again in a heartbeat. They hook up great and are tough as heck. Once my 5th gen has 30,000 ill put a set on my wife's T4R.

I know replacing tires is a pain. I wish 4runners would come with AT tires....i know i know about the Pro.

I have been running the geo 015 tires for about a month. The ride is very quite and the mpg seems to be the same as the stock tires. I think the quality is hit and miss... i had to have them balanced at the stealer and they told me the roadforce numbers were too high on two of the tires and should be replaced. So long and short, i did and went back for another roadforce balance. This time he would not share the roadforce numbers and said they were fine. I don't think they are still 100% right but I'll find out soon after i rotate from back to front. My guess is I'll feel the vibration more in the steering wheel. Overall, would i buy them again? Not sure to be honest. The tread is narrower than the BS Duelers 8.0 vs 8.3mm. No snow yet so well see how that goes.

Lastly, if there is one thing i hate about the 4runner is why Toyota decided to put lug centric wheels on these trucks. Hub centric wheels tend to balance easier. I have had 6 balances and gone through 2 brands. Most tire places don't like to use the HAWEKA adapters or even know what they are... i think that is a big part of my vibration issues. Anyway, winter is just around the corner so giving feedback to others who might be considering new tires. Peace!

I've always purchased my replacement tires at Mavis or Discount or some chain but I've read that OEMs get the better quality tires though they don't stock a lot of AT tires so who gets the best AT tires? Most places will fight tooth and nail before conceding that a tire is bad. It is just such a hassle. Discount was really good as I sent one of those Hankooks back never mounted. It just looked wonky, like way off. But they sent one that also didn't match the other 3 but by then I just mounted them because my old tires were shot and because of the deal they were running there weren't many left in their warehouses. Even though the colored dots on the tires were all over the place, They ended up balancing quite well. Knock wood.

I've always read that Toyo had tires that were super easy to balance with minimal weight. But could never find concrete proof. They are also super heavy comparatively speaking.

One of the best (non winter) tires for winter conditions.

We had those on my wife's Jeep during the last winter and the snow performance was exceptional. They handled well in foot deep snow during blizzards and on sleet/slushy roads the rest of the New England winter.

They also were great in heavy rain and showed a very high threshold for hydroplaning.

Curious if any of you have tried out the Yokohama Geolander's in the snow yet?

Curious if any of you have tried out the Yokohama Geolander's in the snow yet?

We had rain 2 days ago that turned to snow quickly. Temps droped very quickly causing ice to form under the snow. Been driving in it fine. I have noticed the traction control is not kicking in much even in 2 wheel drive. We have not had heavy snow so hard to tell how it will do in say 3 plus inches. Can let you know then.

So far i would rate them 8 on a 10 scale in snow. 9 in rain. 7 in road noise. 6 in comfort since it turned cooler, and i mean Minnesota cooler 20 degrees. The ride was more comfortable when it was warmer. Hope this helps.
