Stocker needs new struts

My wife's GX470 has 100k on it and I am not inclined to replace with OEM eletronically controlled shocks. Looking at KYB but would like to freshen up the springs while I am at it. any one have any oppinion on these?

I've had KYB's on another vehicle and they were fine. Should be very similar to stock.

might go with Bilstein 4600. seems like a useful option.

I tried to save money by going with KYBs on my Ranger. Initially they were great, but after only a few thousand miles, they were totally soft. I was bouncing down the road like a Buick. The original factory shocks lasted 80,000 miles before they did that.

FYI I went with the bilsein 5100s. delivery is today. install this weekend. Basically guy at 4wheelparts said that the 4600 and the 5100 are valved the same, just that the 5100s have more travel for a 0-2 inch lift plus the adjustable perch.

Good choice. I have the 5100's on my 3rd gen 4runner and they are really good. I've had horrible luck with KYB adjustables in the past on other vehicles. I don't trust them.

Still trying to decide if I want to go 5100's on my GX470, or do a full blown ICON setup.

I literally just did this yesterday. Stock settings give a stock ride. So far so good.
