Stolen: 1988 Black V6 from in front of my house (SLC, UT)

I hope it's ok to post this here. I just wanted to get the word out in case anyone from the SLC area is in here and runs across my sweet sweet (ye olde rust bucket) '88 V6 4Runner. I was just getting ready for the day and walked outside to see that my 4Runner was missing. I checked with the cops and they don't have record of it being towed.

it was parked in front of my neighbor's house 2 doors up the street. the top was off, I was planning on putting it on this afternoon. it was originally blue, but the previous owner sprayed the whole thing primer-black including the front-end bumper and grill. it has a 3" lift, fairly new tires, and I will miss it dearly.

If anyone sees this vehicle, or parts with the following VIN, please notify the SLC police, thanks.

not yet, I'm afraid it's most likely in pieces by now, but I'm still hopeful. I'll let you all know if there's any update.

When mine was stolen years and years ago, the police found it in a back lot behind an apartment block with 3 or 4 other stolen trucks. I'm guessing yours is sitting somewhere waiting for a truck to take it south too.

Hopefully you get it back! My in-laws had a nissan pathfinder that was stolen in WA state. It was recovered about 10 miles from their house and it was abandoned. The thieves just took it for a joy ride. Hopefully this is the case for your 4runner. Good luck!!

I had mine stolen back in April. Guy was on the run and used it as a get away rig. Cops found it a week later with a broken cv, stuck in a field. I got lucky, as i know most aren't. I hope you find yours.

sorry to hear that. I'll keep a watch out for it. are those second Gen wheels or did they make em for first gens? just trying to find something unique in case they have different plates or something.

Found!!

just got a voice mail from the cops. they found and towed my beloved 1st gen. it was found (without plates) at about 3900 S 1100 E, so it might have simply been a joyride theft. cops say it doesn't appear drivable but the guy from the tow yard says it looks ok and drivable, guess I'll find out when I get there. now I'm just waiting for my sis to drop by for a ride to the dmv & tow yard.

thank you everyone for your kindness and for reposting to other forums. I'll let you all know how it looks when I get it back. I'm sure she's still a gorgeous rust bucket even if she's picked up new battle scars.

Awesome news, man, that's incredible. I think you just used up your good luck for the year, good thing it's almost over.

Don't be a stranger now that you've got it back, we need to hit some trails. I love wheeling with other first gens.
