Stop bump issue

I've got this issue that when I have a somewhat quick stop about a sec afterward I feel a slight bump. I also get it occasionally when I start off rather abruptly too. It reminds me of an issue I had with my old bronco when my drive shaft went south. Not nearly as bad as that but it feels like it has a bit of play in it that only becomes noticeable on quick stops and take offs.
I did a few google searches and I see this issue has come up in the tundra group and did see a few issues with 4Runners, no particular model year was mentioned. They all say the dealers are saying it's normal. A few say it's can be somewhat addressed by making sure you're properly lubed.
Anyone experienced this?

Yes it can be somewhat fixed by making sure you grease your drive shaft. There was a thread in this section a little while ago about this very subject. It is a very common issue with Toyotas, not a problem just noticeable. Find the zerk(grease) fittings nad pump with grease and this will fix the issue or make it a lot less noticeable.

It's very common and yes ,the grease trick works very well . In fact it's time for me to do that very thing again .

I've driven many 3rd gens and every single one does the little bump. It's just the transmission shifting out of the drive gear you happened to be in as you were slowing down. It's no big deal and nothing to worry about. Greasing the drive shafts is always a good idea, but it has very little effect on the transmission bump. If you do notice a big change doing this, then your universal joints or double cardan joints are more than likely worn out and need replacing.

my 98 had it, but my 02 didn't, all 3rd gen. even after 217k it still doesn't.
