Storage ideas in your Runner

I've got a number of things I keep in my Runner at all times and I'm thinking about better ways to store these items in an organized way that keeps them in good shape. Just looking for some ideas on what you may have done.

Stuff:
- emergency lights
- small recovery kit
- DC to AC converter
- spare bulbs (DRLs, headlight, turn signals, license plate, break)
- misc cycling gear (through axel mounts, etc.)
- misc tools

I'd like it to be sturdy and mobile, maybe a padded bag or storage box with anchor mounts.

Other than building/installing sliding drawers (I'd like to keep it as open as possible for hauling stuff, etc) what ideas have you seen/employed to solve for this?

Also you can pop out the cap on top of your interior rear tire area and store stuff. that's where i keep all my daily driver first aid gear. I think Harper's build thread shows it.
Also you can fit a small amount underneath your rear seats. about the size of your owners manual actually.
And then there is under your front seats. Thats about it that isn't obvious already.

i did a similar track system to what is mentioned above but I used nutserts instead of making a raised platform.
I had used this track system in my 81 and moved it to the 94.
it works great

In keeping with recycling parts from the 81 I dug out the S-Track tie down rails I had, a bag of nutserts and the drill.

Pulled off the interior panels in the back and drill a few holes
Ended up with rails under the window and along the floor.
Should keep junk in place when this thing finally gets off road

Yep that Sea Gull looking thing is spilled paint from a previous owner

using a couple of different sized cargo nets or a ratchet have kept stuff very secure

I use tupperware bins so i can easily remove um. I dont want my truck busted into.

For day to day stuff I use Mountainsmith Modular bags

you can buy them in 2,3,4 or just the bags. I have a bunch and swap them out depending on what i need. 1 is survival items, 1 is first response/safety stuff for work, 1 has hard hat and boots, 1 is non-essential car stuff like spray cleaner and rags, 1 has recovery gear, etc... so I can swab bags as i need them

the ones i have i bought like 2 vehicles ago, they've held up well

The holder thing the bags goes into also works well for holding grocery bags

Cleaned up my quarter body compartment.
Removed and sold stock panels with puny doors.
I will replace with easily removable panels (no more puny doors) for full access to the openings. There will one outboard of the roll-bar (above wheel-well), and another for rearmost opening.
I already currently stuff my tools, etc in there. Lightly-padded bags/pouches/tool-rolls best to minimize rattling.
Roomy, with no puny doors.

8020 rear storage compartment

I made a roof rack out of 8020 this summer

I had a bunch of odds and ends left over from this project and others.
I was about to toss them in the recycle bin when I was looking at the cracked interior pieces in my rear cargo area and got to thinking of a way to re-us/repurpose some left over stuff

I have several of the Rigid storage boxes from Home Depot, they are great since they latch together and are very secure but was looking for a way to free up floor space in the back

Had to get creative due to the odd left over lengths I had

dug into the stash and found some hinges and compression latches that had been floating around a few years

using left over junk that was about to get tossed I ended up spending about $25 on this project. Not as nice as the pro built stuff but it's functional

I was going to suggest a large camera bag or two with all the velcro-adjustable padded dividers. The bags that [MENTION=113833]e60ral[/MENTION] uses or something like it looks like what you're looking for.

Consider hanging a cargo net inside in the cargo area behind the rear seat. The $25 Toyota spider net meant for the floor can be adapted to the roof and strengthened with bungee cords. Pretty easy actually and holds an amazing amount of gear.

Im a fan of the mtm ammo boxes.

Looking for new containers now though. Basically planning on making a sleeping platform out of my storage boxes.
