strange light problem... DRL?

I had my sunroof open when i was in the house... and it started to pour.
I ran out jumped in the pass seat, turned the key, closed the roof. I come back out 30mins later and my lights are on.

i'm guessing the DRLs turned on but since i didn't use the drivers side door they stayed on???

this has happened before and i ended up with a dead battery...

whats the fix? disable DRLs?

No malfunction here, you just found the only way I know of to defeat the auto off function of your headlights. Yes, because you didn't use your driver's door the lights came on. You must have left the lights on when you got out of the vehicle earlier, then when you got back in on the passenger side and turned the ignition on, it turned the headlights back on. Because the driver's door was not opened, it left the headlights on. No fix needed and to my knowledge it is unrelated to DRLs.
