Strobe Install

Ok, so first I want to say that this is not a thread about strobes being legal or why/why not you should have them. I use mine for a legal purpose and don't want this to become a bunch of legal arguments.

I picked up some SNGL3 light heads from sirennet. I only live 20 minutes away from their headquarters :biggrin2: Wiring was pretty straight forward. They have the usual ground and 12v wires. The other two are for synchronization and changing flash patterns.

That being said I found a perfect spot to put a toggle switch next to the steering column. There was one of those little plastic buttons there, I popped it out and opened the hole just big enough to put the switch in. I have it all running off of a fused relay under the hood.

I put the rear light heads in the tailgate, they have just enough clearance to allow the window to roll down without contact. They overlap my plate slightly but its not that big of a deal. I ran the wiring up though the stock wiring access at the bottom drivers side of the tailgate.

I didn't take an up close of my front strobes but I have this picture. I thought about putting them in the grill but the front of the bumper is more noticeable.

This is them with no strobe, just constant burn. They are very bright and I'd say I am pleased with their performance so far. They are very noticeable from far away.

I thought I would share because it is not a typical write up.

At work, we just use the ones you plug into the cigarette lighter and stick on the roof with a magnet. They're pretty much useless in the day, but meet the legal requirements for working on roadsides. These seem to be be a much better option.

I thought about going that route but decided I didn't want anything on the roof considering I already have lights, basket, and antennas up there.

I also like the fact that they are LED, so I can let them run without worrying about the battery going dead.
