Strut Support Bar?

So I was giving thought to fabbing up a strut support cross bar for the front that would go up and over the engine. I'm noticing that the air box and it's tube is kinda in the way from just going right up and over the motor, so I thought maybe going rearward and up so the bar crosses over more toward the firewall.

Anyone done a crossbar or engine cage in their Runner? I'd like to get some ideas.

I have yet to seen it in a 4runner application, but I have seen a few LT 2nd gen tacomas with engine cages. SDHQ is one I believe.

Yeah, the biggest issue is the tube from the intake to the airbox is right in the way...and I don't want to swap out to a CAI since it actually hurts performance in our trucks. So, I'm not willing to mess with the OEM air intake.

I guess I need to just open the hood and stew over it for a while trying to figure out how to route it so that it doesn't resemble multiple letters from the alphabet. If I do figure something out, I'll definitely post up results.
