If you're installing a spacer lift and going to replace the struts at the same time, might as well skip the spacers in the front and go with adjustable Bilstein 5100s instead.

I didn't realize we had struts.. LOL.

It makes sense to change the shocks when doing the install. Your going to have to do an alignement anyway so might as well do it once.

shocks, struts, whatever. You clearly knew what the OP was talking about. The terms are used interchangeably nowadays anyways.

The rears are shocks...the fronts are coil-over shocks (kinda like a strut). Pain to replace.

Do yourself a favor and just get some 5100's. There fairly inexpensive and you don't need a spacer to level it out. Plus the ride is MUCH improved over stock. I changed mine out at about 95k miles.

I agree 100%. You're going to take the suspension out anyways and instead of buying a spacer lift + shocks you can get 5100s that will do both. Although, you might need a small spacer if you use the highest setting up front.

But does it make it right? I personally would rather have a multi link system that uses a shock than a MacPherson Strut. The Macpherson strut was developed to make cheap suspension.

Just having a little fun on hump day..

And if you decide to go the Bilstein 5100 route I will be putting my complete coil over assembly (<8,000 miles, assembled and ready to install) in the For Sale section this weekend. Shameless on my part, I know!!!

Stock springs or FJ's? How much $$?

How much do u want for them? Is this for all four front and back 5100"s? My 04 just turned 150K today and has original shocks. I should probably replace them for a smoother ride.
