About to order Stubbs sliders. Don't do much off-roading but really looking for more of a step for my wife and child and access to the roof rack. What angle do you guys with Stubbs sliders suggest?

If you're really just wanting steps, I'd think you'd want them at the lower angle.

What you REALLY need to do is call and talk to Richard. He's as knowledgeable as he is personable. He's a 3rd gen owner, just like the rest of us, he just also makes badass sliders.

Richard knows his stuff. I had the same question, I expressed my concerns, and we talked for probably 30 minutes about them. He recommended the lower angle ones, but I really wanted the tucked in. In the end I went with the ones tucked in and they work great for steps. My wife and kids use them just like a running board

I agree with jpeaslee, I have the HD-SKOs and while they work great as sliders, they are not nearly as functional as steps as the stock running boards.

I had the same experience talking to Richard about my Sport flares during my communication with him before purchasing. I really preferred the tucked in higher angle, but he talked me into the lower angle ones I think around 15 degrees. I think he was convinced that they'd make contact with the flares, but I have a feeling it would be more for limiteds and their body cladding or maybe those flare stick out a bit further down by the rocker panel. Who knows.

Mine are not perfectly flat like a running board, but with some grip tape or a filler plate they would do just fine. My 11 year old uses them like steps and I haven't bothered with grip tape. A little water on them after a rain might be another story though. I have Krylon Satin Black spray paint, so it's not even textured like the Hammered paint he recommends.

This is the best pic I have at the moment

I dug up the photos Richard sent me showing the different angles. Apparently the limiteds and sports with fender flares he recommends the 7.5 degree, and the SR5 is the 15 degree.

Sliders are ordered! Ordered Friday night and Richard said they would ship Tuesday or Wednesday. Quick turn around. Anyone out there found any good grip tape that holds up?

Treated, primed, and painted today.
