Stuck gas cap

Anyone ever have a problem getting the gas cap off? Went to fill up during the holidays. I couldn't turn it by hand at all. It had rained earlier and then the temps dropped so the only thing I could think was that it was frozen on. I was travelling and running low on fuel so I had no choice but to use a pliers on it. Tried to be as gentle as possible. Got it off but still damaged the "rachet" mechanism inside. It's very hard to open or close properly now so I ordered a new one. They are definitely living up to the stealership name at C$36 for a cap!

Doh! that sucks, but it's the first I've heard of it. There was another member who's fuel door itself got stuck but they didn't mention the screw on cap.

Glad I was somewhat prepared with a small tool kit in the truck. Worst part of the whole thing is $ to the stealer!
