Stuck oil dipstick

I have an '05 SR5 and my oil dipstick is stuck. I tried pulling/twisting/even putting a screwdriver through the hole and twisting it that way and it will not even budge an inch.

Keep in mind, I did not apply a lot of pressure for fear of breaking it and having the rest of the dipstick fall down.

Anyone have a way to get this dang thing unstuck? So far I have been lucky with consistency, I burn about 1/2 to 1 quart of oil every 5,000 miles so I know how much to add.

And yes, this dipstick let life get in the way and for quite a while didn't get to check his oil.

Heat the pipe up a bit? Possibly with a heat gun?

I haven't tried a heat gun but I have tried it with the engine hot no dice. Will the heat gun make it any hotter than when the engine is hot? And yes it is hard to touch that pipe when the engine is hot, but I can still touch the rubberized handle.

Why are you burning oil? I have never read that about a 4th gen, ever.

remove tube

You could remove the tube holding the dipstick and fight it out with visegrips, clamps etc. ofc u need a new o ring to reinstall but it'll make it easier to deal with when it's off the engine

I just realized I mixed up the numbers, I just fixed it. 1/2 to 1 quart every 5000.

Yeah I haven't seen any drips on the pavement nor am I burning oil (don't see any blue smoke coming out of the exhaust).

Don't notice anything in the engine either.

Same thing happened to me. I got a new dipstick and tube from the dealership for around $40 if I remember correctly. The bolt is in a slightly awkward spot, bit I think I had the old one off and the new one on in less than 15 minutes.

That's a bit higher than I'd like to see, but Toyota says 1qt per 1200miles is acceptable, some oil consumption is acceptable; most of the time it's barely anything noticable. I have rarely heard of either the V6 or the V8 consuming oil excessively though, that's a bit odd.
