I have a 92 4runner V6 and have 2 problems that I cant figure out. I'm hoping for some wisdom.
Problem 1. I have an automatic tranny and the transmission light comes on from time to time, it has always shifted great but the light bugs the hell out of me. Should I consider a transmission cooler? I never tow and dont drive it hard. Are there filters I can change? The 4runner lives in Mexico and I am going down there in a couple days and would like to bring down the parts and get her done if possible.
Problem #2 My 4runner started really losing power and stuttering, I changed the fuel filter, it was caked with crap. It gained power again but a week later it did it again. I changed the filter again it didnt appear to look bad but it ran better after the change. Ok, it did it again, I pulled the tank and it did have floating crap in it, after 8 gas rinses the gas finally came out clean. I cleaned the fuel pick up tube put it back together. I havent had the problem since but I really feel I am not getting full power. Is there anything else I can do. I did do injector cleaner also. I really appreciate your input!!
