Stupid ATF question

Ok so my 01 is low on ATF, I read it takes DEXRON II or III. I went to a few shops today and the best I could come up with is this Castrol Transmax Import Multi-vehicle. I am really hesitant to put it in the trany before asking about it. So my question is, is this ATF ok to use or should i return it and go to the dealer for the right stuff? and another thing, is it just me or is every DEXRON at the parts stores is mixed with MERCON?

~on the back of the bottle~
Recommended for use in vehicles that require:
~Honda, Acura - ATF-Z1(except in CVTs) Toyota, Lexus - Type T, T-III, T-IV Nissan, Infiniti - Matic-D, Matic-J
~BMW - LA2634, LT71141 Mitsubishi - Diamond SP-II Volvo (all Specifications)

Also meets requirements of
-ATF+3,ATF+2,ATF+ Ford MERCON (not for use where MECRON SP or MERCON LV is required)
-General Motors - DERON-III H and prior (not for use where DEXRON-VI is required)

so is it ok? return it and go to the dealer?

Just don't put any Toyota ATF in your power steering fluid that says to use ATF. It will kill your pump, ask me how i know. I only put a splash in too, to top it off. Do you know what is in your trans currently? I would try my best to stick with the same fluid.

:wtf: I have to look for that now.... it tells you on the cap to use ATF?!?!?! seriously wtf lol, granted if you didn't say something I probably would end up doing it :rockthrow:. Anyway I am assuming it still has the original fluid, 53k miles and it stopped seeing Toyota for maint around 25k. I have been taking care of it the last 4 years (last 20k miles) but sense it was my landlords I only did the basics. Now its mine and I wish I would have taken better care of it.

I think I am just going to return this ATF and go to Toyota, I have to return the gear oil anyway lol

Yeah, dont put just any ATF fluid in your power steering pump. Dexron I or Mercon will not do nice things to your 4Runner.
Again.... Any Dexron III will work in the tranny or the power steering pump.
