Stupid question about tire air pressure

Why is the recommended tire air pressure, 8 PSI higher for the rear tires, than the fronts on my '90 4Runner?

Anyone know the answer? :

But, to be abit on the humor side (or the go-crazy-side rather).
You could always take your time and move the rear axle ALOT furter backwards so you could have the same pressure in the tires. If that helps you to sleep better at nights. Heh heh.

Heh Heh Heh....I was just curious about it!
I went and had the tires rotated for better wear, and, they didn't re balance, or, check the air pressures...the truck hasn't rode the same...then went to another place where they readjusted the air pressure, and, the truck still "wobbles" around 45-55 mph...makes me wish I'd never got the dang tires rotated to begin with, it just hasn't handled the same...

The BF Goodrich tires on it read 50psi max when cold, and, the shops keep putting less than 35psi in the tires...I'm goin' to have to experiment I guess, until she handles the way it did before the rotation!

Never really had these issues with my '65 GMC 4x4!
