Stupid Question

1994 4runner. Can I fit 35x12.5x15 tires on it with a 4 inch lift without having to hack anything? Or is running 33x12.5x15 on a 4 inch lift a better way to go?

Seems appropriate to mention how it will be used.
Daily driver(I know that either tire set up will suck gas, and the 3.0 isnt known for its power, but I want what I want you know)
I will be taking it camping, going up to the mountains, possible going over some obsticals.
Mud (My favorite), running trails, hitting mud pits. If I encounter rocks or stumps, and long as they are not too much, Id like to be able to manuever around or over them.

I really want to run 35's, but the most part I am a practical person.

Advice please, which is the better set up

From the research I've done so far is yes you will need to trim to fit 35's. I have heard of some in Norway that have 35's with a stock lift and no trimming. This has yet to been proving. Then again, I saw a post on here somewhere that someone installed 32's and there is hardly any room between the tire and fender. I however, have 32's on my pops 91 and they fit nicely. I think 33's would fit as well with out trimming. So I can't really say for sure about those two. I can say that I would almost guarantee you will need to trim for 35's. What is the issue with trimming? Many vehicles look good trimmed if done right and carefully. If you want to run 35's I would run 35's. You know about the engine issue and don't care. I installed 35's on my 84 Cj with a 4 banger. I love the tires but can't wheel it because of the sever lost of power. I am now looking for a diesel for it because I love the tires to much. Point is, do what your gut is telling you and to me sounds like trim and 35's... :guitar3:

What do you mean hammer the pinch weld? I noticed the red pick up doesnt have side steps mine does, I dont know if that make a difference.

Running boards? I think that might make a difference. If you really plan on wheelin, your should probably take them off anyway.

Got a pic? Lets see your truck!
