sub box

Is there a sub box available for the rear container in a 3rd gen 4runner or am I going to have to fab up a custom box? There has to be some kind of box through some company considering all the crap they have for domestic trucks! Anyone know?!

I'm not sure... I can get you MSRP tomorrow when I go into work. But seeing as how it comes with a 10w1, I'm thinking anywhere from $399-$499. I might even have a used one gray in color that I can let go for cheap. I'll double check that tomorrow too.

Oooo, I like that! I take it there isn't room for an amp in the same box? Or maybe there is another box matching this one for the other side for the amp?! I suppose that would be too cool to have! Peak handling on that sub is only 150W?

Yes, its JLs entry line sub but don't underestimate it. JL power vs. most other brands of power is extremely different.

But you might possibly be able to order it with a w3 instead of the w1. Of course it would be more money but louder. If JL won't send it with a w3 you could probably talk the shop you order it from to letting you swap it out. 10w1s retail at $129 i think and 10w3s are around $219. Both require the same amount of air space so it shouldn't be a big deal.

There is a decent amount of room under the front driver seat as long as you don't get a beast of an amp. Other than that you might try doing something behind one of the rear side panels?

Someone needs to make a stealth amp box for the other side now. That would be kick ass! I know anything can be custom made, but saving money and having the gear is what I'm all about!
How hard is it to run this sub set up on a factory deck? I can't seem to find any onfo on the w3 on the website...is it the w3v1, v2, or v3? What's the peak power on it?

You won't find any w3v1s around anymore.. and the only reason a shop will have w3v2 is for replacement or just some left over. w3v3 are the newest models for the w3 series. v1,2,3 means version 1,2,3... then v2d* means version 2, dual * ohm... the v3s are single voice coil so their numbers are w3v3-* . Power handling is around 300 rms on the 10s.

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken but I think the jl stealthbox for the T4R is more on the $499-$599 range, if not I think more.

Damn, didn't know it was that much. I could probably make a box matching that for cheaper. How is the stealthbox mounted so it doesn't move?
