Sub Mod

I come from a wrangler background, so heavy mod with little care of what it does to your car. The 4runner is now mine and my wifes so have to care alot more about what I do. i have an SR5 with base audio system. In my wrangler I snatched an OEM sub with a busted speaker and swaped teh speakers out for a nice sound and little loss of space with the oem design. In a few searches I did not see it so i am going to ask. Has anyone swapped an OEM sub into an SR5? I found a factory sub unit on Ebay just dont know where or how they are installed.

i have the Nav with JBL audio, so i can't say for certain but from what i understand the wiring harnesses are totally different between the base SR5 and upgraded JBL audio systems. again, i can't say for sure... but i doubt it will be plug and play.

I think he may just want the enclosure, but you would also need the body panel. But then you could do an aftermarket sub/amp system and have a super clean install.
