Subwoofer setup

I have a '99 Limited, and I need some bass. My only problem is that I am constantly folding down the rear seats. I use the back to haul cargo all the time. I need to figure out a way that I can have an amp and a sub box that are removable, so I can use the space. What would you guys suggest?

So is this Amp to be a dedicated mono amp to the subwoofer? or is it going to be powering your speakers as well?

Because if it was just to be powering your sub then the only wires would be power and the actual speaker wires to the amp from the HU so you might be able to do some quick disconnects on the lines and disconnect them when needed and just pull the box out, though if it'd be bolted down you'd need to remove those as well.

yeah, the amp would be just for the sub.

do what i did, get a regular amp and subwoofer and attach the amp to the subwoofer box. When you take it out of your truck just throw a wire nut on the hot wire and your good.

What I would do is mount the amp behind panel or under seat where it can stay permenantly...that way you don't have to worry about removing power\ground\rca's...etc. Then use like banana plugs or some kinda quick connects for the speaker wire to the box, easily removable and all you have to do is plug in the speaker wires to the box each time.

The only problem with mounting it behind a panel is that an amp can get very hot. If it gets to hot, behind the panel, it can shut itself down.

How much room is there under the front seats? I think your best bet (as mentioned above) is to remotely locate the amp and only have the speaker wires going to the box.

There should be enough room under the passanger seat if you don't have power seats. That is not a bad idea actually, I may do that one myself.

It takes to people to lift my subs and amp out of my car...But I do have two, just keep in mind wieght if you decide to go that way
