But it makes ya wonder, kinda like "There are no bad pets, just bad pet owners."
Ya kno, Sad4RrunnerOwner is now coming on this site trying to sell us Mercedes! After catching his act for the last few months [I call him our little "upper."], his being a car saleman is starting to add up:
I have asked him questions directly, and he refuses to answer me. He makes misstatements, talks [pronounced bitches] only about what he wants to, and then has the balls to call MY truck a POS! The PERFECT Car saleasman! I think all the bashin' he & his brethern have taken on this site make him, like real PMS!
But you think we have it bad, think about the joy of being Ms. Sad4RunnerOwner! And poor girl can't even log off!
Toybox - great choice - about a 1990 Taurus wagon!

How many miles you have on your 4runner? All your problems look minor and most could be caused by some dealer mistakes. Try another dealer, or live with the problems. No big deal. If it really makes you that SAD, then trade it for another brand. Good luck.

Mark86, in TX we are limited to a 35% front window tint. How come the Limited windows look equally dark? Is it an optical illlusion because you are looking into the vehicle and away from the light source? What degree of tint is used on the Limited front windows?

I do not see any difference in the Limited windows. I know in my area, none of the front windows of any 4Runner come tinted from the dealers in NJ. The rear windows are just as dark on all of the models. Some people I know were pulled over and got tickets for having tints.

Funny you mention - getting bugs, etc., out of the scoop is a pain!
Don't know if it has anything to do with the cleanliness of the windshield, or not. There just seem to be quite a few of them end up there - and, as we all kno, the scoop is a complete nonsucker.

The hood scoop can be opened and it is open on some foreing 4Runners. A turbo diesel is an engine option in foreign countries and the intercooler for the turbo is top mounted. It's very reminiscent of the Celica Alltracs...

Here's a few more improvements I'd like to see:
HEATED side mirrors standard on the SR5. Even a $22,000 Subaru Forester provides this and it is a real safety improvement in cold, snow and foggy weather.
LIGHTED window & door lock switches. Others have mentioned this. My wife has an Audi and they do an amazing job lighting EVERY knob & button so you can easily and safely operate controls day or night.
Window switch interlock operation needs to be improved. On those rare occassions when my kids are in the 4-runner and I need to lock the rear window switches so they don't play with them and get injured all the window switches (except the driver side window) become inoperative, even from the drivers side door. I should be able to operate any window even if the rear seat passenger switch is overridden.
Oh yeah, and pretty much everything all the other posters mentioned... but overall, I'm real happy with the vehicle.

I like the interlock feature the way it is. Sometimes when my dog is really quiet I forget he is back there and I don't want to accidentally roll up the window on his nose. I guess there would be an occasion when this might happen when my kids are in the car too, but they certainly aren't quiet.

metal bumpers we can jack from ala Australias Prado bumper accessory

*Better skid plate protection and REAL Rock Sliders
* Design a dash board with guages we can read in daylight. Current system is a road safety hazard.
* A telescoping steering wheel that aids the tall drivers a well as the short ones.
*AS the market changes suspect that the 4Runner will become so bloated with electronic gizmos and overweight that it will be dropped for a much simpler vehicle......
