Hey guys
Anyone know where I can find a sun visor retainer clip replacement? Scoured on-line and even eBay to no avail. I can’t even locate the part on any of the Toyota diagrams. Please help,

If you referring too it not staying in the up position, I haven't heard of replacement part or being able to do the replacement because of the way it's made, most just find a complete sun visor at a savage yard.

No I’m talking about the other end. The clip where the sun visor can be detached from to reposition the visor to the side window

Not sure on a part #, but I will see if I can find one after work, but again check at your local savage yard for one.

Depends on your color:

74348-34010-B3 for stone
74348-34010-E1 for fawn? according to Toyota.

Pricey little boogers.

The same part is shared with the 1st gen Tundra (so I'd check the same gen Sequoia also).

Check your junk yard. I replaced mines from Upull off a Tundra. Got 2x for free since they guy at the counter asked "really, that's all you needed?"

I was just in the same boat, my thought was tear into the material and try to get it back looking right and hope it held or just replace it. $ 71.82 and it was fixed.
A little expensive but it's no longer flopping in front of my eyes.

Thanks that’s exactly what I was looking for. Apparently the gx470 shares the same part too. Any tips on how to remove the old one from the headliner?

It's 2 clips, but 1 has a screw going thru it. I was impatient and busted that clip.

Make sure the screw comes all the way out, then use plastic trim removal tools and slowly back the piece out.

does anyone have a quick picture of what we're talking about here? i have a possible similar issue, trying to find a visor clip retainer.

Does anyone know what the part number is or where to find one for the other clip? THe one that has two screws and secures it to the top? I took the whole visor off and lost that part in the process. I want to reattach it now as I no longer have blue lights in it but need that part. I can't find it online anywhere and junk yards around me don't have 4runners. Thanks

If you're looking for the part that actually attaches the sun visor to the vehicle but I don't think it's a separate part that is suppose to be detached, I think it only comes with a new sun visor, so I don't think you find it by itself unless it's at a savage yard.

If you're asking about the other clip near the center of the windshield that the visor clips too then the part number are posting in this topic in post number 5.

It's the part that actually attaches it and isn't supposed to be removed. Hoping to find one at a salvage yard. Thanks

Solution to Broken Sun Visor Retention Clip

If you are all wanting to replace this retention clip because the little plastic flex-tab broke off, then I have a better solution. I too ordered a new (supposedly Toyota made) pair off ebay for my 99. I installed them fairly easy. Driver side broke in the same place upon first use. #&@*!!!!!!

Then I had an idea. There is a little hollow square area in the clip. I found some rubber tubing I had in the garage, cut a small piece, just wide enough to fit into that hollow area. The hose is 7/16" O.D. and 1/4" I.D. . And, you just basically cut a 3/8" length of it (fine tune with razor blade). Stuff it into the hollow area from underneath, with the axis of the tube running side-to-side in the clip. The rounded part of the tubing will stick up a little bit, into the area that receives the visor, like a bumper. The size tubing I mentioned is also just the right size to hit the 'bottom' of the hollow part (which will hit the headliner once it gets re-installed) and keeps it in place.

It works great, and will likely last longer than a "new" clip from ebay.
