Sunglass Compartment?

The gear that opens this compartment has fallen back behind where it is supposed to sit. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or at least get the gear so it isn't rolling around?

If you need to remove the upper console to get the gear out you need to pull down on the end closest to the windshield. It will take a good amount of force to pop it free. You may bend the clips in the process but they are cheap (less than $1) from the dealer and in one of my old posts I listed the part number.

When you say pull down, do I pull down on the compartment door, or the entire compartment?

The entire compartment. Grab the edge that touched the headliner and try to get your fingers under it and pull straight down.

Don't yank it though I just used a nice steady pressure until it popped.
