sunroof malfunction

Well, my sunroof does not move right now.....just makes a (rather loud) clicking noise. It also doesn't sit exactly right in position....the person I bought it from has some wood blocks in between the glass part and the moveable cloth part. Any suggestions as what might cause the sunroof to not sit right and do you think I need a new motor for it? Thanks in advance.

Hmm, I'd believe that the cause might be damaged sleves (wth is the correct english word??) .
The 'things' that the window sits in, it's a u-steel with rubber in it, to keep it in it's correct position, hope this helps anything.
If you can hear the motor click it's probably not the motor...

I was messing with the sunroof today and noticed that there were some wooded blocks/shims in between the glass moving part and the roof/headliner. It seems as if they were keeping the sunroof up (cause it kinda sags down) so that water doesn't make its way through...even though it still sorta does. I managed to push the sunroof open and closed while pressing the button at the same time. So does anyone know what might be the problem....is it off "track"? Are there some worn out parts or something? Thanks.

My friend at the other forum said she also experiencing some problems with her sunroof. It opens and stays in the open position.

I just replaced the sunroof out of mine, and to me it, sounds almost like your motor is loose and isn't catching, pull off the plastic where the switch is at and see if your motor is loose, if not just take the thing apart and look for damages, Another thing it could be is the flexible plastic gear that the motor turns to open and close the sunroof could be worn out or missing teeth.

leaking sunroof

I was wondering if the 2nd gen sunroofs had some sort of draining system (tubes or holes) or if it is just sealed by rubber. Im having a wicked bad time with all this rain that the Tropical Storm is giving us down here. Does anyone have any "home remedies" for this leaking?
