Have to ask and hopefully someone here has had the same issue. My sunroof was slow the first 3-4 inches then would speed up and open / close normally. I sprayed white lithium grease on the rails and cable and the roof has now almost seized completely. I order a used motor from a 2000 from ebay but I'm not sure this is the issue. My 4runner has always been in the south and it may have been used a lot. I don't think the cables could be the issue but I could be wrong. Has anyone else here have a motor die? If this doesn't work I've got a specialty shop here that does roofs and headliners that said they could fix it cheap. Thoughts anyone?
