What is PN 63207-35040 sunroof base?

Can anyone tell me what the the 'Base sub-assembly' 63207-35040 is for? I see it mentioned a few times on this site, but I never saw an explanation of what it is used for.

Back story - my sunroof jammed a few years ago and I got the cables free and rebuilt it, but fully expect them to seize again. I had to leave on a trip so put it all back togerher before new parts arrived, but I have a new pair of cables and the cable carrier assembly to fit one day. I'm not exactly keen on getting the head lining down again though.

What does the kit do? Are the two plastic bits parts of the sunroof which are not on the cable holder assemblies? Or do I not need this kit since I have new parts?

Looks like two end pieces that the sunroof deflector engages with to pop up nd down, some grease for that function and possibly some kind of drain tubes although they look awfully short.
